Home Theatre                              av1.jpg (12206 bytes)

For the most advanced home movie theater the industry leader is THX as the standard for movie sound systems. A home theater consists of a integrated large screen, positioned seating if desired, and surround sound. Many manufacturers build home equipment to THX standards. A mix of manufacturers may be used to get excellent results. The following are design considerations of a home theater:

  • Number of people in the room
  • Dedicated theater vs. multi-purpose room
  • Room size
  • Seating
  • Screen size and type
  • Speaker selection and placement
  • Lighting and drapery control

In addition to a home theater the whole house audio/video system can be installed distributing the hi fi music in every room having invisible in wall or in ceiling speakers. The whole house audio/video refers to a centralized system that sends music and video/cable signals throughout the home. Because the unit is central the only components present in each room are speakers and TV screens. Control of the system is made through a handheld remote or wall mounted control panels. A centralized control system is able to distribute the video signal to certain channels, Infra-red distribution, volume control, etc. for control of all audio/video equipment in the home to delivery the ambience of entertainment throughout the house.
