The telephone is a device that continues to be used for new and exciting home automation features. It is new for homeowners to give thought to communication. To handle present and future technology the home should be wired with CAT5 cable, which has 10 times the bandwidth of the standard CAT3. The telephone allows a homeowner to have call in control over lights, appliances, or computers. All lights and appliances can be turned on from any touch tone telephone. Also telephone distribution systems can be utilized. An integrated intercom can be added to the phone system or a combination intercom/phone system is available. The phones can be used as an intercom system or to answer the door.
